Lhm Zaar is cherished by the political class amongst the Sayawa nation, influential personalities, academicians, prominent traditional rulers within and outside Bauchi State who attend the occasion.
Lhm Zaar 2023 is here again. The pride of every town and gowns in Sayawa land. It is another opportunity to refresh and reflect on the focus of this rich cultural heritage of Lhm Zaar. Sons and daughters of Sayawa, let’s celebrate the memorial event as we’ve been doing every first Saturday of November.
The spirit of love, care and accommodation puts Lhm Zaar in the first position among African cultures – it’s known for its rich historical background.
As a proud son of Sayawa, Lhm Zaar celebration is an event that should not be missed by anyone irrespective of your ethnic background.
Lhm Zaar is celebrated by the people of Tafawa Balewa and Bogoro at its ancestral home of Tafawa Balewa. It is one of the major festivals in Bauchi State and North Eastern Nigeria.
This cultural gathering is centred on celebration of new harvests, also to thank the Creator for seeing them through the farming season. Zaar sons and daughters, both in diaspora and home, converge at Tafawa Balewa town, their tribal headquarters and ancestral home, to rub minds while giving thanks to Almighty God for a successful farming season.
On the 4th of November, 2023 thousands of Zaar people gathered at the usual venue, Central Primary School, Tafawa Balewa in Bauchi State, in their cultural regalia to celebrate the festival for the year 2023.
The festival, as usual, witnessed a mammoth crowd not only of Zaar extraction, but other tribes, who trooped to the town in their hundreds to show solidarity and to celebrate the annual cultural festival with the people. The festival showcases Sayawas political, social and economic lives in the way and manner of their dress, music and dance, to teach and inculcate the heritage to the younger generation for sustained future commitment.
Lhm Zaar is cherished by the political class amongst the Sayawa nation, influential personalities, academicians, prominent traditional rulers within and outside Bauchi State who attend the occasion.
During this period, the town usually witnesses its climax of economic activities, where business vendors take advantage of the festival to make sales, hotels and suits get maximum customers.
