Entrepreneur is a borrowed term from French that is widely used to describe an individual who organises and operates a firm or businesses while taking on financial risk. It is the pursuit of opportunities without concern for currently controlled resources.

Many people engage in entrepreneurial activities without realizing it. Some walk into homes and offices to sell products such as office supplies or domestic items, while others sell products utilized in specific types of businesses, and yet others represent wholesalers who sell their products to retailers for retail/resell. Stores employ clerks/young people to promote their products, but others provide services such as repairmen, dry cleaners, and washer men, among others.
