The Jigawa State Government House,
His Excellency Mallam Badaru Abubakar,
The Executive Governor of Jigawa State,
Jigawa State.
Nigeria.

Your Excellency Sir,

It is with great delight that I am writing this letter to you as a good indigene of Jigawa state who wants a great future for the good people of Jigawa state. I hope you will not see this letter as a politically motivated letter or one written to discredit your administration.

I usually write my letters when there is a need to address very critical issues that affect the life of the ordinary people living in Jigawa state. The best way for government to measure its success, then, it should get feedback from the people. Your Excellency Sir, for every decision you take in consultation with your team, there must be a very good reason why such decision was made. But again, in a democracy like ours, it is very much all about the people and this I know you are very much aware of. As such, I believe by virtue of your education and the vast experience that you have in political life, you know whatever affects the people it is their right to speak out.

Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Badaru

Alhaji Abubakar Muhammad Badaru

In the recent years I have realistically made it known to myself that insulting political leaders or making statements that are undeserving is not the best approach to engage government. Government fails because citizens have failed to engage the government and that is why bad leaders are produced.
Therefore, I use this medium not just to commend your efforts in your leadership administration but to also see those areas that needs attention so that as you do your very best for the good people of Jigawa State everyone will be happy to live a life worth living.

Governor Badaru Abubakar, I’m writing you at this time to share in the disappointment of the people of my senatorial district – Jigawa Northeast– in the siting newly approved federal university of technology in Babura Local Government area.

A number of releases from different quarters have followed this development, noting the level of disappointment of the people of Jigawa Northeast in your decision to turn your back at the people who gave their all to ensure your success at the polls during the Governorship election on 2015 and 2019. This action definitely calls for reflection as it means your government isn’t all-inclusive as against your promise that no senatorial district will be marginalised.

One begins to think that Jigawa Northeast is the only senatorial district that has no Federal tertiary institution.

Here is the list we have of the higher institutions in the state; as fellows:

JIGAWA CENTRAL SENATORIAL DISTRICT
1- Federal University Dutse
2- College of Nursing and Midwifery Birnin Kudu
3- College of Health Science and Technology Jahun
4- Jigawa state Polytechnic Dutse

JIGAWA NORTHWEST SENATORIAL DISTRICT
1- Federal University of Technology Babura
2- Khadija University Majia
3- Hussaini Adamu Federal Polytechnic Kazaure
4- Jigawa state College of Education and Legal Studies Ringim
5- Jigawa state College of Remedial Studies Babura
6- School of Midwifery Babura
7- Institute of Information Technology Kazaure
8- Kazaure Research and Innovation Institute

JIGAWA NORTHEAST SENATORIAL DISTRICT
1- Sule lamido university kafin hausa
2- Assalam university Hadejia
3- Bilyaminu Usman Polytechnic Hadejia
4- School of Nursing Hadejia

Sire, we are not only dissatisfied by the omission on the federal tertiary institutions even when it translates to the fact that our senatorial district has been side-lined from the leadership of the State, but the fact that this development is taking place against the provisions of the Federal Character Commission Act necessitates a swift action. It’s thus only necessary for you as the Governor to look into this, as we have faith in his government to lead our state to prosperity in fairness and justice. The atmosphere that should be of celebration and not of leaving the people of Jigawa Northeast in mixed feelings, as the feeling among the political class and elite is that of betrayed loyalty.
It’s important to note that this clamour is not in any way aimed at attacking the Governor, as we remain ruthless in our support to ensure the State of Virtues rise above the shackles limiting it to an enviable standard that places it in the heart of all and sundry, but it’s just as important to speak against repression of this sought, as I believe and stand convinced that the price of unflinching loyalty shouldn’t be undue abandonment!

Long Live the People of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Yours faithfully
