Blessed By A Critic (Part 1) -By Joe Dauda

For all the donkey years I had spent as a Seventh-day Adventist, I had been dutifully taught to understand the mark of the beast, which was to be avoided at all cost — including the cost of losing my life. Nobody ever emphasized the name of the beast and especially the number of the name of the beast. All the focus was on the mark.

A woman once asked me a question I thought was very provocative.

The question wasn’t provocative in and of itself. But I considered it provocative and annoying because, in my view, she was just grasping at straws. When someone accuses you of grasping at straws, they mean you are desperately clinging to your opinion and refusing to be influenced by facts you probably find unpalatable.

After presenting what I considered convincing facts about why I believed that Jesus Christ is the only begotten Son of God (no more, no less) and that the doctrine of the Trinity was false, this woman parried every point I made and finally said “Where is it in the Bible?”

It was like asking me to prove that my name, Joe Dauda, was in the Bible, and avowing that, if I could not find my name there, then I was not a member of the kingdom of God.

I left that discussion with the feeling that this woman and her husband had no sympathy for my teaching, not because my points were not biblical and compelling, but because they had made an unconscious (and subconscious) decision never to believe anything outside the official doctrines of the church.

Where is it in the Bible?

This annoying question irritated me but would not leave my mind entirely.

So one morning I asked God why the doctrine of the Trinity loomed large in Seventh-day Adventist theology (in terms of it being evidence of an end-time apostasy) if it wasn’t in the Bible.

And God led me to read Revelation 13:17 — again.

Revelation 13:17
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

Then my eyes were opened.

But that morning, I believe that God opened my eyes to realize that it will be possible to buy and sell even if a person Does Not Receive the mark of the beast.

What?

Yes!

The Bible says so.

In other words, there will be options for appeasing the beast and securing the permission of the beast to buy and sell. Receiving the mark of the beast is not going to be the only way. According to Revelation 13:17, there will be three ways or at least two ways.

Revelation 13:17
And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

If you have the mark, Or the name of the beast, Or the number of his name, you will be able to buy and sell.

And you will go to hell.

Those that inherit the kingdom of heaven are specifically said to have gained victory over the number of the name of the beast — apart from the mark of the beast.

Revelation 15:2
And I saw as it were a sea of glass mingled with fire: and them that had gotten the victory over the beast, and over his image, and over his mark, and over the number of his name, stand on the sea of glass, having the harps of God.

So the last day saints have to gain victory over several beast-related issues, including “the number of his name.” Did you see that in Revelation 15:2 quoted above?

I have already explained in previous posts (available on request) what the mark of the beast is and what it means to receive the mark of the beast.

That morning when God opened my eyes to see that there will be optional ways of appeasing the beast — all leading to hell fire — He also taught me what the number of the name of the beast really means. Yes, I’m convinced that God taught me what it really means to have the number of the name of the beast, which is codified in Revelation 13:18 as 666.

To unpack Revelation 13:18, I was first led to Revelation 21:17 through a simple Bible study tool known as the Cross Reference — or cf for short.

Revelation 21:17
And he measured the wall thereof, an hundred and forty and four cubits, according to the measure of a man, that is, of the angel.

. . . according to the measurement of a man, that is, the measurement of the angel. Paraphrase.

. . . according to the numbering of a man, that is, the numbering of the angel.
Paraphrase.

The revelation I got after reading Revelation 21:17 was that the number of an angel was also the number of a man. The two can be used interchangeably. In other words, the Bible can code the number of an angel by referring to it as the number of a man.

Revelation 13:18
Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

After reading Revelation 21:17 and getting the divine insight, reading Revelation 13:18 made me to understand that the number of a man referred to in Revelation 13:18 was a coded way of referring to the number of an angel. The 666 in Revelation 13:18 is the number of an angel.

But this angel is clearly an enemy of God.

Who is the most important enemy of God that is also an angel?

That would be Lucifer, a cherubim that was anointed. A Cherubim is an angel.

Ezekiel 28:14-15
Thou art the anointed cherub that covereth; and I have set thee so: thou wast upon the holy mountain of God; thou hast walked up and down in the midst of the stones of fire.
Thou wast perfect in thy ways from the day that thou wast created, till iniquity was found in thee.

But Lucifer’s proper name in the Bible — especially after his rebellion against the government of God — is the dragon.

Revelation 12:9
And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

After showing me these things, I was far from satisfied, just like I’m sure you are.

So what is the number of the name of fallen angel Lucifer? Of course the Bible says it is 666. But what does it mean to have the number?

The Bible teaches that there is an Antichrist. As the true Christ is to God, the Antichrist is to Satan. When you find the Antichrist, you have found Lucifer. According to the Bible, there are several anti-christs (those who support the teachings of the main Antichrist) but there is a real and actual Antichrist. This Antichrist is the true rival of Jesus Christ. The Antichrist is like a person wearing DHL uniform and face cap and bringing you a bomb in a beautiful package — while driving a DHL painted vehicle! But he does this only because he has privileged information that you are expecting a package from DHL. If he comes with the uniform of FEDEX (another courier company) you will not be fooled because you are sure the person who sent you the package you are expecting said he had sent it through DHL.

What this means is that the Antichrist is a deception that can only fool those who believe in Christ. If you are not expecting a package at all, a person posing as a delivery man from DHL will have a very hard time convincing you to accept any package. Thus, those who do not believe in Christ have immunity from the deception of the Antichrist. Did you get that?

Those who do not believe in Christ will not be deceived by the Antichrist. By not believing in Christ, they are in sufficient darkness already. No need to bother about them. The real target of the Antichrist is those who truly and sincerely believe in Christ.

Do you believe in Jesus Christ?

It is for you and people like you that the Antichrist was packaged. If you can find the key doctrine of the Antichrist, you have found the number of the name of the beast. And I will prove to you that 666 is a logical and fair and very smart way of representing this doctrine. It is mind blowing.

In the whole of the Bible, there are only four places that mention the Antichrist, namely 1 John 2:18; 1 John 2:22; 1 John 4:3; and 2 John 1:7. Surprisingly, two of these four places (the 3rd and the 4th listed above) have nothing to say other than to emphasize the fact that Jesus Christ was born in the flesh.

But isn’t it obvious that Jesus Christ was born in the flesh?

How is it that the main warning given in the Bible to protect the true child of God from mistakenly serving the Antichrist instead of the real Christ is just to state that Jesus Christ came in the flesh? Is it because the doctrine of the Antichrist will be destroyed by this simple and seemingly irrelevant fact? The fact that Jesus Christ came in the flesh?

Is there anyone out there teaching that Jesus Christ did not come in the flesh? Or that He came in a flesh somehow different from ours?

Hebrews 2:14
Forasmuch then as the children are partakers of flesh and blood, he also himself likewise took part of the same; that through death he might destroy him that had the power of death, that is, the devil;

Is there any doctrine in Christendom that teaches something contrary to this obvious fact?

To be continued . . .

May God have mercy on all of us.

1 John 2:22
Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

There is a Father and there is a Son.

Anyone denying this is Antichrist.

John 14:28.
If ye loved me, ye would rejoice, because I said, I go unto the Father: for my Father is greater than I.

The truth will never be popular. Satan will make sure of that.
