BREAKING: Supporters storm court, demand Seun Kuti’s release

Supporters of musician Seun Kuti gathered outside the magistrate’s court in Yaba, Lagos State to demand the singer’s release.

The trial, which was slated for today, was said to have been adjourned as a result of the judge’s absence from the court, a source who pleaded anonymity told PUNCH.

The protesters held posters and banners with inscriptions such as “End police brutality,” “Free Sun Kuti,” and others.

Seun Kuti was arrested for assaulting a police officer on the Third Mainland bridge, prompting the Inspector General of Police, Usman Baba, to order his arrest.
