Under a major political union of Africa there could emerge a United Africa, great and powerful, in which territorial boundaries which are relics of colonialism will become obsolete and superfluous.” -KWAME NKRUMAH.

Leaders that “Challenge the Process” seek innovative ways to change, grow and improve on it. They “experiment and take risks” by strong convictions and constantly questioning how these are done in their environment. They identify processes that don’t work, and take action to fix them. Such leaders are ready to resign when their expectations are not met. Unfortunately, in our clime they cling on to power when conditions deteriorate as if they are the only people who have the solutions to all our problems. In other sane societies, they resign honorably.

Challenges and problems are important parts of life that give you experience, make you learn and help you to become wiser and stronger. Problem identification and solution, make a lot of difference in the constantly changing nature of the world, and make us grow and shape us. The biggest problem people have is that they hope for a life without hardship and problems…regardless of the result, value the experience and personal growth derived from pain.

The biggest challenges facing many of our compatriots and nations in the continent of Africa are: poverty, insecurity, instability and most importantly, poor leadership. The challenges are not insurmountable obstacles to our glorious destination, it only requires time tested leadership anchored on selfless service to humanity.

Facing challenges and navigating one’s way through them builds resilience and capacity. There is gain in pain, the same adversity that causes some men to breakdown completely, made others to break records and attain new heights. This is a time for sober reflection and introspection.

The leadership, effectiveness and challenges of the present, future and the fourth industrial revolution in the context of the continent of Africa’s development and growth is critical, as no society can be better or greater than the sum total of the values that define its leaders and what the followers have agreed as their irreducible minimums. One of the key issues that has brought stagnation to Africa is the fact that tribal and imaginary boundaries have been set to divide us to the advantage of the ruling class. So, few people attain political prominence on merit
The time has come for us to take the bull by the horns by refusing to celebrate mediocrity which is the bane of our stagnation and backwardness. It is a pity that African nations are importing covid 19 drugs when a tiny third world country like Cuba is producing its drugs. Wake up from your slumber, the sleeping giant and reclaim your rightful place in the comity of nations.
