Greed, selfishness, avarice, injustice and the wedge of ethnocentrism are the very constructive tools that will spell the destruction of the efforts of the forebears.

Wonder not. Above is the original version of Ephraim Amu’s unofficial national anthem of Ghana. It is in the Ewe language, from which was translated into the popular” Y3n Ara asese ni”

Just some few emphases and a call to reflection.

  1. Our beloved country is too precious to be played with. For her freedom was fought with the blood and toil of our fore fathers.
  2. It is now our turn to serve her right. Serve her in truth and selflessness. Serve her as a nation but not a political appendage. Serve her with a national philosophy of selflessness and common good. Discard partisan politics in the face of national interest.
  3. The good of the motherland is a function of our collective commitment. Whiles the founding fathers slept in prisons, denied themselves of pleasure; their hope was a future of equal opportunity for all.

Greed, selfishness, avarice, injustice and the wedge of ethnocentrism are the very constructive tools that will spell the destruction of the efforts of the forebears.

If Ghana is a public servant, she would have been 5 years into retirement (except in politics🙄).

Question : How productive will her retirement be?

Still borrowing money to feed her children?
Still begging her children for her upkeep.?

May the vision that triggered the call for independence keep the eyes of our understanding of nationhood enlightened.

God Bless our homeland Ghana and make our nation great and strong.

Reflective Independence day.
