Nigerian musicians - artists

Culture is something that is deeply meaningful and valuable, that connects us to our history and our identity. But on the other hand, Fame is something that can be alluring and can provide opportunities for success and recognition. So it’s hard to choose between the two.
there are artists, I mean for many artists, the choice between culture and fame is a difficult one. for example Vinnie paz and immortal technique talked about how they chose to stay true to their underground hip hop culture even if it meant giving up greater commercial success.

Similarly, a rap music duo called “the black house ” and “a tribe called quest ” has stated that their music is rooted in their African and African American heritage, rather than chasing mainstream success and lose their culture in the process.

On the other hand side , it can limit an artists reach and financial success. because the companies out there wants what will be salable not meaningful. eg while Vinnie paz and immortal technique have both found critical acclaimed, they may not have the same level of commercial success as artists who choose to compromise their purpose and vision at first for a wider audience or fan base..
