The wind of change hovering over Africa have gotten to Ghana also, despite the #JMToaso continuity slogan of the incumbent president the “change” slogan have won it again.

Finally, the blue elephant of Ghana the (NPP) National Patriotic Party’s presidential candidate Nana Akufo-Addo having ran for the presidency in 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008 and 2012 and serially beaten in closely fought elections in those years, has just threaded the historic line of Abraham Lincoln and Muhammadu Buhari of Nigeria who were all defeated thrice before clinching a Presidency victory, he has been defeated in Nationwide election thrice since 2004.

Akuffo-Addo and the blue elephant (NPP) today defeated the current president of Ghana John Mahama of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) in a fiercely contested poll. Mr Akufo-Addo will be taking a majestic walk into the presidential palace of Ghana flagstaff House on 7th Jan 2017.

The blue elephants (NPP) party had predicted it will win the election by 54% and also win more than half of Ghana’s Parliamentary poll and it all came to pass, A majestic win! The Elephant have trunked the umbrella (NDC) away making this year’s Ghana general election the seventh having previously held elections in 1992, 1996, 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2012. The NDC party has won four of the last elections while the NPP has won the other two. Funny enough since 1992 all the past and present president had been John. From 1992 to 2000 it was Jerry John Rawlings of the National Democratic Congress. From 2000 to 2008, it was John Agyekum Kufuor of New Patriotic Party. From 2008 to 2012, it was John Evans Atta Mills of the National Democratic Congress. From 2012 to 2016, it was John Dramani Mahama. The change has come and maybe its going to be a “Nana” era as Nana Akufo-Addo would be taking charge of the Ghana’s Flag staff presidential palace, lolzzz. It is also funny that the political change happening in Africa has sent the J’s out of office from Nigeria’s Jonathan to Gambia’s Jammeh and now Ghana’s John.

Now that Ghana has received it own change, with no doubt Nana’s wife Rebecca and the spirits of his ex Remi and Eleanor will be happy with him, the whole of Ghana is happy. I am also happy for him, Change has finally come to Ghana, Africa is arising and with its blue elephant’s superstorm Nana Addo has now outstead the incumbent Mahama.
I am saying ‘Akwaaba’ to the president-elect from the other side and the other room.
