Re – Banditry: Don’t turn insecurity challenges into ethnic, tribal or religious crises – Tinubu warns Nigerians —Adesanya-Davies Replies

Sir Tinubu had spoken at the eight-day Fidau prayers for the late civilian governor of the state, Alhaji Lateef Kayode Jakande, held in the late statesman’s house in Ilupeju Lagos and was contained in a statement signed by his Media Aide, Tunde Rahman. Tinubu said: “Nigeria is currently facing crises, crisis of insurgency, of banditry and all aspects of insecurity. But it’s not a ethnic, tribal or religious crises. God Almighty who made this country one of the largest and most resourceful countries will guide and protect us.

– NIGERIA : Ode to My Motherland (Dear Old Naija)

Permit me to start this reply with an Ode as a poet and a lover of poetry and l quote, “Nigeria – One of Mother Africa’s most beloved Children, Residing on the near side of Her west- Blessed from the day You were conceived; No trouble had You at all in gaining Your freedom Hence, No bloody sign of violence on Your symbol That peaceful, smart Flag of Yours. Richly blessed are You by God and Mother Africa Cultural, human, natural and material resources. You were abundantly blessed with. A population to suit Your greatness which was bestowed to You. Though the largest surface area You had not, You were named the Giant of Africa. – BY UGOMMA AASTA MBANUGOSEP 30, 2013.…”

Is Nigeria still the GIANT OF AFRICA? This is one of the real reasons nobody should support Bola Tinubu for 2023 presidency— So what is it? Asks Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies. That Banditry, insecurity challenges is not ethnic, tribal or religious crises? Who are the bandits then? Are they the Christians? Or the Southerners!

Moreover, Bola Tinubu needs no support because of his age, health status, anticedent and the Southern ticket is supposedly a Christian ticket where Christians are in majority, just as the Northern ticket is usually and always been a Muslim ticket because they are in majority in the North.

Bola Tinubu, the National Leader of the All Progressives Congress, APC, on Friday, February 18, 2021 last year had urged Nigerians not to turn the present security challenges across the country into ethnic, tribal or religious crises as published by Seun Opejobi.

However, “he and all the rest of us know that, the present security challenges across the country is simply ethnic, tribal or religious crises, if we choose not to decieve ourselves and live in denial and slavery”, I Funmilayo Adesanya-Davies assert, that, “The bandits are FULANI MUSLIM FUNDAMENTALISTS FROM NIGERIA, AND THEIR BROTHERS FROM ALL OVER AFRICA AND OTHER NATIONS OF THE WORLD, who claim Nigeria is their inheritance.”

How could one imagine that Tinubu assertively added that, “Anyone who had experienced ethnic confrontation or religious war before would not pray for one in Nigeria, and as such it isn’t an ethnic, tribal or religious crises. So what else is it, Alagba Tinubu??? A national crises? or family misunderstanding! Ok, may I explain that, “Banditry is an insecurity and insurgency challenge and crises with an undeniable ethnic, tribal or religious origin and coloration. They are the ones declaring war against the indigenous people of the Federal Republic of Nigeria and not us declaring war against them on our fatherland, the tribes of our motherland. And they are everywhere in the North and South sir. Let’s call a spade a spade. So you’re to warn them and not NIGERIANS.

“In memory of Baba Jakande, I appeal today to all of us not to turn whatever challenges we are facing right now to ethnic, tribal and religious crises. “Only God Almighty will judge our faith, only Him is perfect. We usually beseech Allah to direct us on the right path. However, it’s left for us, left for me, left for you, left for the Ulamas to do the right thing.

“The Ulamas, you are very critical in the present situation. In your prayers, commitments, Uthubas, etc, all your sermons must be geared towards peace, tolerance, stability and togetherness.” – Haba! Peace, tolerance, stability and togetherness without equal rights and an justice? I don’t agree so! I absolutely disagree.

This is one of the real reasons nobody should support Bola Tinubu’s presidential ambition in 2023, because he cannot even identify the source of problems, nor lay hands on its root, let alone fix it! So, how will he fix it? He also claims he will take Nigeria from Buhari’s next level to EXTRA-NEXT LEVEL. What does this mean? Oh my God! Nigerians are already roasting. We cannot afford to continue from where Buhari stopped sir o!

Early this year again, just this week, the same Bola Tinubu said that the current PVCs have expired, which is not true, according to INEC. On the next day, 19 Jan 2022 Bola Tinubu turned round again to apologise to Nigerians for the misleading claim on ‘expiration’ of voters card.

“Tinubu had made the claim while addressing women leaders of the APC who paid him a visit in Abuja, on Tuesday. The former governor of Lagos State also lamented that there had been a decline in the number of eligible voters in recent times.

Reacting, Chief Technical Adviser to the Chairman of INEC, Prof Bolade Eyinla, stated that PVCs previously registered remain valid. This is as he advised those who already have PVCs not to bother about registering for another one.

“This information is not correct. The PVC issued to all previously registered voters remains valid. This kind of statement will certainly push eligible voters to register more than once thereby creating the problem of double and multiple registrations,” he said as quoted by Daily Trust.

Buttressing Eyinla’s point, Chief Press Secretary to the INEC Chairman, Mr Rotimi Lawrence Oyekanmi, pointed out that registering for PVC more than once is an offence under the law.

“In fact, double registration is an offence under our laws. Eligible Nigerians are entitled to register only once. Once a name appears on the National Register of Voters, it stays there permanently.

So, which way Nigerians!
Let’s be weary of our wrong choices!

NIGERIANS, please enjoy these rhythmic poems jare:

NIGERIA : Ode to My Motherland (Dear Old Naija)

I. Nigeria –
One of Mother Africa’s most beloved Children,
Residing on the near side of Her west-
Blessed from the day You were conceived;
No trouble had You at all in gaining Your freedom
Hence,
No bloody sign of violence on Your symbol
That peaceful, smart Flag of Yours.
Richly blessed are You by God and Mother Africa
Cultural, human, natural and material resources
You were abundantly blessed with.
A population to suit Your greatness was bestowed to You.
Though the largest surface area You had not,
You were named the Giant of Africa.

II. Everything about You is unique
Everyone wants to be associated with You
When You speak,
The rest of Africa has spoken.
When You achieve and merry,
Everyone rejoices with You.
Likewise
Your sorrows are shared.
How You are appreciated, this shows!

III. How saddening it is
That so great a Mother
So loving a parent,
Should such disappointing Children have.
Children who fail You
Children who care not what heartbreak they bring to You.
Now,
You are scorned
For the sake of the wrongs Your Children do
You bear the blames.

IV. You are now a place where everything abounds
From great heroes, heroines and inventions,
To the highest known peak of corruption.
You have come to harbour everything;
Good, Bad, Ugly.
With bad and ugly fast outnumbering good.
Injustice is fast rising
Abuse of the resources You provided Us with to ease our living,
Is a common thing.
Economic instability is no longer a new story
Devaluation of the Naira…
Overpopulated too Your Children have become,
Making it all the more difficult for You
Religious intolerance now leads to the death of most of Your Children.
Ethnicity-a mere concept- is now a serious issue.
You are wont to be asking,
“Did I make a mistake in bringing these children together…
…For their own good and greatness?”

V. Everything in You and about You
But for Your love for Your Children, has changed!
At Your advanced age,
Your children neglect You
Neglect maintaining, restoring and improving You.
Great men and women You have produced
People capable of looking after You
Yet,
They care not.

VI. Do not forsake Us Mother
Let not down Your anger on Us
For the sake of the number who love and regard You still,
Care for Us still.

VII. Should every Child of Yours love You
Should every Nigerian be a patriot
Should every Nigerian know they are tarnishing Your name and image by the day;
Should every Nigerian set out to achieve things,
Not just for the glory it would bring them,
But ultimately and more importantly I think-
To the superseding glory it would bring You Mother-
I believe our efforts would be more successful then.
And of utmost interest,
You will once again return to The Beauty Queen
The Giant of Africa
You once were.

VIII. We have begun re-tracing though Mother, I think and believe
Persevere dear Mother
Persevere our Motherland
Patience Nigeria…
…Patience
