Forgotten Dairies
Royalty And Army -By Sulaiman Maijama’a
Ain’t it a shame
For this old army
To think royalty will go?
Night the former is,
Daylight the latter is
In old army’s tongue
No rhetoric,
In old army’s face,
No smile
His temperament is hash
His mien in army’s uniform
Faints children out of fear
But royalty in garment
His smiles put sunshine to shame
Like a magnet attracts folks from all angles
Under royalty
Freedom is to fullest
Democracy prevails
Public has a stake
And law is passed
Army shall be tyrant among his subjects
Like lion in the Jungle
Press gag is assured
And decree shall be issued
Like in the dungeon
No voice shall be heard
