Sylva’s N60m transport money tears Ekeremor APC apart

There is heavy row among the members of the All Progressive Congress (APC) in Ekeremor Local Government Area of Bayelsa State over a sixty million Naira boat mobilisation fund handed them by the Governorship candidate of the party, Chief Timipre Sylva.

The raging row is coming few weeks after a similar issue of diverted money triggered near fisticuff between the Former Deputy Governor, Peremobowei Ebebi and the State party Chairman, Barr. Dennis Otiotio.

It was gathered at the weekend that latest N60million controversy, which has led to threat of beating and attack against APC leaders in Ekeremor council area, was triggered by the way the leaders “butchered” the money among themselves.

Among those fingered as accused in the alleged butchering are Former Deputy Governor, Rt. Hon. Peremobowei Ebebi, who reportedly took N6m, former Commissioner, Bekes Etifa took N6m, a Former State Assembly Member, Hon. Wilson Ayakpo took N6m and a new defector to the APC, Randy Awolowo took N3m.

An aggrieved member of the APC, Abel Julius, told newsmen that the so called leaders of the party shared the money without due consideration to the Local Government leadership of the Party.

A check showed that the Sylva’s money is to provoke scarcity of boats during the November 11th elections as “they are planning to charter all the boats moving into Ekeremor communities and convey only APC supporters, while planning to leave the PDP supporters stranded in the State capital.”
