Who Are You? -By Seun Elere

I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth!… Rev 3:15-16.

In Exo 2:19, Moses was referred to as an Egyptian even though he wasn’t but because he has lived in Egypt for many years, he probably talks, acts and dresses like an Egyptian.

So many of us are not different, we profess Christ but project Egypt. The world can’t tell if you are a believer or not because your doings and dressing do not depict Christ. You are exuding contradictory vibes, the world can’t tell if you are Jezebel or Mary. They can’t tell if you are moved by ganja or Holy Spirit.

You claim to be a believer but the world sees you as an Egyptian. You move people by what they see and not by what you say. People will not move until they ‘see’. You need to show your Godly heritage and be an emission of signs and wonders to your world. You need to show beyond reasonable doubts that you have seen Christ.

But you are not like that, for you are a chosen people. You are royal priests, a holy nation, God’s very own possession. As a result, you can SHOW others the goodness of God, for he called you out of the darkness into his wonderful light. 1 Pet 2:9 NLT

Many of us are turning people away from the Church, from Christ by what you are showing. Your newness in Christ should show that indeed every other old things have passed. You should ordinarily exude the fruits of the spirit if you have seen Christ.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law. Gal 5:22-23 NIV.

You need to show forth your true identity. Everything is by choice. You can decide to continue in sin regardless of the consequences (Rom 6:23) or choose Christ and renounce sin. But whosoever claim or profess to be in Christ must demonstrate the newness of salvation (2Cor 5:17). It is dangerous to be lukewarm.

I know your deeds; you are neither cold nor hot. How I wish you were one or the other! So because you are lukewarm—neither hot nor cold—I am about to vomit you out of My mouth!… Rev 3:15-16.

It’s not ok to be a believer in your own way, you can only be that in Christ’s way. You don’t ‘party hard’ on Saturday and show up in Church on Sunday, that’s a mockery on Christianity. If you know what is right and don’t do it, it is a sin (James 4:17). Sadly, your action is turning many away from Christ.
