The public and all interested parties have been informed by the Federal Airports Authority of Nigeria (FAAN) that runway 18L/36R has been reopened for flight operations at approximately 8 p.m.

This is stated in a statement that was issued on Tuesday in Lagos by Mrs. Obiageli Orah, FAAN’s Director of Public Affairs & Consumer Protection.

According to Orah, the incident included a Dana Air aircraft registered 5N-BKI that overshot the runway during its landing sequence, which led to the runway’s earlier closure on Tuesday morning.

She claimed that the FAAN emergency response team moved quickly to remove the aircraft from the area and evacuate it.
