Commonwealth Universities give UNICAL Prof Appointment

The Association of Commonwealth Universities has appointed Professor Aniebiet Inyang Ntui as a Member of the Commonwealth Peace and Reconciliation Network, this was made known by a news update.

Truth and reconciliation processes are critical in addressing colonial legacies and realising the modern vision of the Commonwealth.

The Commonwealth Peace and Reconciliation Network brings together an interdisciplinary collective of academics, researchers and professional staff from more than 40 universities across the Commonwealth, who work in the fields of peace, truth, justice, and reconciliation.

The network aims to connect and support those interested in peace and reconciliation, facilitating collaboration and sharing approaches to truth-telling and reconciliation in society and within universities themselves.

Through the network’s discussion group, academics can connect with colleagues working on similar topics and share events or relevant news and research.

Professor Aniebiet Inyang Ntui is the Most Read Researcher in Nigeria based on information provided by the Web of Science. She was recently nominated for a Nobel Citation Laureates Prize.   Currently, she is serving as the the University Librarian of the University of Calabar.

In August, she was named as the possible Minister for Education of the Nigerian Presidential Candidate, Peter Obi whom is currently leading the Bloomberg national vote poll with over 70 points.

The Association of Commonwealth Universities was established in 1913, and has over 500 member institutions in over 50 countries across the Commonwealth. The ACU is the world’s oldest international network of universities. King Charles III upon ascension as Monarch replace Queen Elizabeth as Patron of the association.
