It is sardonic, disheartening, and worrisome that mother earth is faced and buffeted by her greatest excrescence- the novel disease christened Corona Virus (COVID-19).

I surmise, the media and its adjucnt components has been saturated with lots of news and you at least must have read or heard titles that are needed to be known of the virulent disease.

You must have read how mother earth was bequeathed a mammoth gift to nuture and care for, by the unsung Wuhan city. You are not left in oblivion of the disease, its causes and how it spreads primarily through droplets of saliva or discharge from the nose of an infected person via coughing or sneezing.

The need to curtail the spread of the Corona virus pandemic from infecting the citizenry led the government to close down her nation as there was no satisfied vaccine to combat this colossal arch enemy.

Prevention they say is better than cure. The question of much concerns are: How will the government meet the needs to sustain her teeming masses in this humongously devastating time? What will be the fate of her yet to develop or developing economy in a crucial time like this? How do the urchins, the mendicants and those that live on daily incomes survive an atmosphere as bad as this? These and other similar questions are waiting to be answered.

The oddity of this present moment has left mother earth and her dear occupants in a state of intense trepidation. Every man has been left locked in his tenement to fight the scourge which the present time has to unfold.

May I ask you, where do we now run to? The government that could have been an embodiment of immense succor has proved beyond a doubt that she is unable to control her overly plethora people with adequate palliative measure. Hence, the need to ease the total lockdown.

The so called eggheads parading the corridors of our citadel of learning with their suits, glamorous dresses, fleet of cars, gargantuan packs of books and lots more could not find a remedy to help contain the disease.

The highly esteemed buffs we raise arms in triumphant salute to could not come up with a solution to alleviate this challenging time. Do I blame them? Of course, I won’t dare. The climes and modalities we find ourselves is a place where ”cram to pass” mantra has its convenient dominance.

Do I need to remind you of the third-rated quality of our health facilities? What a debacle! If I may ask you my dear burghers, where do we run to? To the Western community that is yet to tame her arch enemy or to the government that has grossly failed her citizens by providing her abysmal health facilities or maybe, to an average politician that views public office as a platform to siphon money for his needs and that of his families?

How are the mighty fallen in the midst of the battle? How are the mighty fallen, and the weapons of war perished! The World Health Organization in her recent news predicted that the current war striking the world may have its stay for a while than really expected.

If the said postulation by the World Body turns out to be true, what will become of mother earth and her vast dwellers? How will mother Earth save her beloved dwellers from this fiasco unscathed. How?
