Defamation [Apostle Suleman]: Nollywood actress Halima Abubakar silent over N10 million fine
For a few months in 2022, the well-known actress claimed that the controversial clergyman had broken his vow to marry her. She said he gave her a life-threatening illness that was unknown to doctors and had affected her for years.
Halima Abubakar, a Nollywood actress, has not commented on the N10 million damages that an Abuja Federal Capital Territory (FCT) High Court awarded her for defaming Omega Fire Ministries International apostle Johnson Suleman.
The actress graciously declined to comment when contacted by Potpourri over the Judgement, stating that she is not currently interested in doing any interviews.
Additionally, she doesn’t appear to be upset by the development on her Instagram page, where she appears to be more focused on living life to the fullest and giving God the finest praise possible.
“I’m filled with gratitude and the gift of life. God is good,” she posted on Tuesday and followed it with another post wishing the Muslim faithful happy Eid-el-Fitr.
Days before that, she posted, ” I’m very protective over this current version of me. It took a lot of mental, emotional and spiritual work for me to get to this stage. So, if I come off as if I’m ‘ too good’ for certain people, situations, events, conversations, whatever, it is because I am.” It is however unclear whether the post is connected to the current situation but it sure gives an inkling to the actress’ current state of mind.

After several warnings, in January 2023, Mr Suleman Suleman slammed Ms Abubakar with a N1 billion lawsuit for defaming him.
However, the hearing of the case marked FCT/HC/CV/3413/2022 began on 25 March 2023 with the judgment passed days ago.
