Total Blackout in Maiduguri

In 2024, Nigeria experienced its third power system failure, leaving vast areas of the country without electricity.

Numerous electricity distribution companies, or DisCos, have already informed their clients of the development and added that they are unable to change the circumstances.

Friday Adakole Elijah, head of corporate affairs at Jos Electricity Distribution Company (DisCo), made the following statement in a statement that Vanguard was able to obtain: “The loss of power supply from the national grid occurred in the early hours of today, Monday, April 15, 2024, at about 0242 hours, hence the loss of power supply on all our feeders.”
