A campaign rally for Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s third term reelection was conducted in Lagos on Sunday by Indian professionals, businesspeople, and Non-Resident Indians (NRIs) in Nigeria.

The Indian elections are scheduled to take place from April 19 to June 1, according to the News Agency of Nigeria.

In the upcoming election, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who has been in charge of India since 2014, is expected to run for a third term.

According to Srivastava, the campaign, which took place in three separate parts of Lagos, was designed to persuade Indian citizens living in Nigeria to actively participate in the next Indian general elections. He added that it was done to guarantee Modi’s candidature the strongest possible backing.

“The primary objective of the campaign was to mobilise the Indian community in Nigeria to actively participate in the electoral process in India,” he said.

Also, Pravin Kumar, General Secretary of OFBJP, emphasised the significance of their involvement in shaping the future of Indians.

Kumar said similar awareness campaigns and programmes had been scheduled for weekends before the election to ensure a sustained effort to rally support for Prime Minister Modi and his government.

“This campaign stresses the importance of personal engagement and urges Indians to visit India for ground campaigning.

“We remain committed to mobilising the Indian diaspora in Nigeria and ensuring their active participation in the electoral process back in India,” he said.
