Oyo State Amotekun Corps forceful convert all Christians and Muslims operatives to traditionalist -By Segun Adebowale
The Oyo State government and the Oyo State Amotekun board of governance are beseeching to let full professional practice be in place in the administration of the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps, as this professional practice will has a good effect and boast the performance of the Oyo State Amotekun operatives rather than forcing and threatening the operatives to swear traditionally.
Having seen that all efforts to stop the Oyo State Amotekun forceful traditional oath taken slated for December,2023 proved abortive. It is highly imperative to inform the Oyo State government and other concerns individuals that the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps management and Amotekun board of governance have started another forceful traditional oaths taking with a threat that the Oyo State Amotekun board of governance has concluded that any Oyo State Amotekun operative (s) that fails to participate shall be summarily dismissed.
It was in June, 2022 that the Oyo State Amotekun operatives were forcefully administered a traditional oath on, as the content of this oath was curse and casting spell on the family of the Amotekun operatives.
Right now the Oyo State Amotekun management is administering another forceful traditional oaths on all the Amotekun operatives at the state operation based command, Dandaru in Ibadan.
One will wonder what call for this end of the year curse and casting of spell on Oyo State Amotekun operatives. Can forceful traditional oath taken take position of professional practice that shall gives birth to code of conduct that shall guard and tame the behavior of the Oyo State Amotekun operatives as expected of a professional security agents? What offence did Oyo State Amotekun operatives commit that necessitate cursing and casting of spell on their children, family and generation? In a time like this and being the end of the year that all people are busy praying for families, children, friends, colleague and staff, even better Nigeria and better life for Nigerians, the Oyo State Amotekun board of governance and Amotekun management team concluded to curse and cast spell on the Oyo State Amotekun operatives. If the deity of the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps cannot redeem and help the Oyo State Amotekun operatives, please for God sake, leave them the way you met them (Orisa bo legbemi, se mi bi o ti bami)
The management team and the board of governance did not understand that there is no short cut on for person on a palm tree (ona Abuja kosi fun eni gun igi ope). The only key to the administrative problems of the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps is the institution of a functional professional practice as it is well stated in the Oyo State Security Network Agency law 2020.
In addition this, forceful traditional oaths taking is not in line with the Constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria, neither is it in line with the Oyo State Security Network Agency law 2020 nor the Oyo State Civil Service Commission. The only oaths taken recommended for any government establishment like Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps is OATHS OF ALLEGIANCE.

Is there any skeleton in the cupboard of the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps that the Amotekun board of governance and management team don’t want the Oyo State Amotekun operatives to reveal to the public? Or the Oyo State Amotekun board of governance and management team are making the forceful traditional oath taken to close the mouth of the Oyo State Amotekun so that the operative will not be able to tell the newly appointed Amotekun board chairman their (operatives) problems that is emerging from unprofessional practice? The forceful traditional oath is to make the life of Oyo State Amotekun operatives a “close mouth; a close destiny!!!
Please, the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps embrace professional practice, embrace intelligence rather than juju, embrace proactiveness over reactiveness. Whose anus and armpit does not smells? Can the Oyo State Amotekun management team and board members also take the traditional oath that they have not been unfair to the Oyo State Amotekun operatives? Can they take the traditional oaths that the way the Agency is being administered is in line with the Oyo State Security Network Agency law 2020? Can they take the traditional oaths that all the benefits and entitlement of each Oyo State Amotekun operatives are being paid to them as provided by the Oyo State government? Is embezzlement and misappropriation not behind your unprofessional administration principles in the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps? All these and others are awaiting your response.
If and only the Oyo State Amotekun operatives are to take oath, it should be oath of allegiance and the oath should not be taken under the OPC caucus that the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) is operating. Those to hold sway are to assume the office/post by academic qualification and know who truly they are accountable to and the punishable offences contain in code of conduct and standard operating procedure (SOP) that the leaders are to hold the operatives under them responsible for. The only oath to take is the Oath of Allegiance as contained in the Oaths Act of 2004 as amended.
To the Oyo State Amotekun operatives, in fairness to you, your service is highly appreciated by the Oyo State citizens but there are bad elements among you, that the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps is using unprofessional practice to cover up thei misdeed, even the commander Col (rtd) Olayanju Olayinka and his deputy Mr Kazeem Akinro know these bad elements among the Oyo State Amotekun operatives, if you fail to desist from all these miscreants behavior, which if professionalism is put in place is against the ethics of security work, your names and atrocities committed shall be made known to the public. The sleepless night and service to humanity of the Oyo State Amotekun operatives shall definitely judge all the enemies of professional practice in the Oyo State Security Network Agency and Amotekun Corps who are presently administering curse and spell oath on the Oyo State Amotekun operatives.
At this crucial junctures, I call on the Ministry of Justice “the last hope of common men” and the Oyo State Attorney General Mr. Biodun Aikomo to please call the attention of the Oyo State Governor Engineer Seyi Makinde, Oyo State House of Assembly and the attention of Oyo State Amotekun board Chairman AIG Sikiru Kayode Akande (rtd) to this another unethical decision of the Oyo State Security Network Agency (Amotekun) to order.
And also call the attention of parents, the Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN) and the Muslim Society of Nigeria to come to the aids of some faithful and innocent Oyo State Amotekun corps whose faith may not allow swearing traditionally.
