Who are the Quran’s “People of the Book” & who are the Cousins amongst Abraham, Ibrahim, Isaac and Ishmael? -By Steven Dwight Ferber

Given the Satanic Massacre of over a thousand innocent civilians on October 7th by Hamas and the horribly excessive reaction to such by Israel ever since, I am reminded of scriptures from the Quran regarding the “People of the Book” who are mentioned a number of times. This is a reference to those who read and are governed by the Bible, mostly it seems the Jewish people although by Mohammad’s day the New Testament had been circulating over 500 years as well.

   Generally the references are to treat such people more or less as allies under Allah, however the implications seem to include that such deference should be extended only to the degree which such people actually follow the precepts as laid down in “The Book”. Thereby the mass slaughter of said people by Hamas (including hundreds of sexual assaults of the most horrible sort) demonstrates that this organization has no claim to call themselves Muslim (of the Ummah) and should be replaced by an entity which actually follows the precepts of Muhammad’s revelation.

   On the other hand, their excuse and logical comprehension for such evil surely lies in the oppression of the Palestinian people for 75 years by those who claim to follow the precepts of YHWH as revealed by such as Moises.

There have been many true Jews who have tried to reconcile with their cousins over the decades, including more recently Yitzak Rabin who was murdered by an ally of Benjamin Yetanyahoo (of the extreme right-wing Likud party), but the slide to the far-right by a criminal willing to destroy democracy in Israel in order to stay out of Jail (said Bibi) has destroyed any momentum towards a peaceful coexistence. In fact his “brilliant” strategy was to weaken the Palestinian Authority and IMPOWER Hamas so as to prevent any progress towards a two-state solution of coexistence essential to bringing SALAM/SHALOM/PEACE to the Holy Lands, an obvious prerequisite for such lands to truly become “HOLY”.  The clear treason against Adoni & country in this case is simply the “LAW of Moses” regarding the LIMITS of vengence: A Life for a Life is the MOST one may extract from a murderous force, NOT a floor !!  Returning 24,000 dead for 1200 breaks said law by 20 fold !!!  Thusly, again an illegitimate regime perverting the ideals of Israel must be replaced in order for any progress towards a permanent peace to be achieved.

Both sides have tempted the Wrath of YHWH/ALLAH, and both have suffered the consequences of such. Isn’t it time to return to our Ideals ??

                     Lord, hear our Prayer !!!!
