Yawmul Jumu’ah: The Creator of The Creature -By Olayinka Abdur-Razzaq
Today is another best day on the Earth. Don’t forget to engage in all the sunatic acts of today. You know, we may not witness another Jumu’ah again. Therefore let’s utilize this opportunity judiciously. May it be accepted as an act of worship.
To be loved by people is a generic feature in every being. To get this, people start venturing into the business of pleasing creatures at the expense of the Creator. Forgetting that this kind of business returns no dividend. Forgetting that pleasing of creatures is an unattainable goal.
Many a times we shy away from obeying Allah (Subhaana wa tāa’la), purposely to save from people’s hatred. To free from their persecution at the workplace, or to save our relationship from being breaking up.
Dear brethren! You have taken the wrong procedure. All that can’t be achieved until and unless you take the normal procedure laids by the Creator. If not, what you are afraid of will surely come up one day.
Way to gain people’s love without loosing that of Creator has been well established in the tradition of the Prophet, peace be upon him.
*Our beloved Prophet, peace be upon him, said: “He who displeases ALLAH for seeking the pleasure of people, ALLAH is displeased with such person and those people will also be displeased with him. And he who pleases ALLAH, although by it he displeases people, ALLAH will be pleased with such person, and also those people whom he had displeased will be pleased with him for pleasing ALLAH”.*
This is a wonderful Hadith which simplifies life immensely for us. Many don’t know that It’s impossible to please everybody. Behold! Striving to gain everyone’s love is an effort in futility.
However, way to this is an only one way traffic. That is striving to please the Creator only. just direct all your efforts in pleasing Him. He will love you and people will surely love you and He will take care of all your affairs. What an achievement!
May Allah forgive our shortcomings and protect us from such mistake.
