Yawmul Jumu’ah: The Tenants -By Olayinka Abdur-Razzaq

Today is another Friday, the blessed day of week. Use the opportunity you have wisely and judiciously now to engage in rewardable acts: going early to mosque, reading suratul Kahf, putting on good dressings and be much in supplications to the Prophet, may Allah’s peace be upon him. Caveat! You may not witness the upcoming Jumu’ah. He does as He wishes. So, work now to earn tomorrow.

Multitudes of men have walked on the surface of this Earth. They all belonged to different nations and cultures. A few of them made history for which they were remembered, whereas others were never to be mentioned again. Although each one was personally different from another, yet they all had two (2) things in common; they were all delivered from their mother’s womb (birth); and they all tasted death.

No matter how the day maybe long, the Sun will surely travel to her appointed place. Behold that how longenvity you may stay on this Earth you will one day transit to your appointed place. This is the decree of the Almighty.

The death is a debt on you, which you can’t run away from. One day will be one day that you will have to pay off your debt, either you like it or not. Why then don’t you work hard now? So as to pay your debt unbankruptly.

You have to learn from the departure of your beloved ones, those relatives who left you unnoticed. You have to learn from your colleagues whose goals and yours are the same but death took them away and the goals became unachieved. Why don’t you learn from the one who taught you yesterday and today is no more on this Earth? That’s exact picture of life.

Dear brethren, death itself counsels you not to hold onto this life too much, but it seems that the earlobes has covered the eardrums from hearing its warning. Dear living souls try to let your Do’s here be for the purpose of pleasing your Lord and refrain totally from His Dot’s. Don’t let this amusement amuses you to forget the ever lasting enjoyment.

Dears, don’t spend much of your income on the rented house. Beware, the landlord may eject out tomorrow, even today, because you’re just a tenant here. You know, he who owns land owns whatever attached or fastened on it. Spend much on what Will benefit you tomorrow. A place there has no comparison to whatever you may imagine off.

I ask Allah SWT to forgive and bless all the Muslim deceased with Paradise and preserve the livings upon the goodness. Oh Allah, takes not our lives until you are pleased with us.
