Bill Ward

William Gresvenour Ward alias “Bill Ward” is an American writer and the author of “Remembering Vietnam 50 Years Later”, a book that describes his account when serving as United States Marine Corp. Bill has been known to Nigerian writers for long as a supporting father in numerous sectors; he is both a literary lover and supporter and he also helps writers financially all around the world despite the fact that he’s a retired Marine Corp.

In his tireless quest to give emerging writers voice, after he created a magazine which he named World Voices Magazine, where he publishes poems, stories, essays and as well as literary books, he plans to organize a competition in Nigeria in collaboration with Gombe Jewel Writers’ Association.

In his plans, Bill said that his main idea in organizing this competition of writing which will take place in Gombe soon, is that it would be a way of strengthening the culture of reading and writing amongst young emerging writers in the world.

In conclusion, I would like to close this with a quote that says “Unless you’ve hope that the world would be better via strengthening the indices of progress and development, you’ll endup a hopeless being”. Bill has built a world for emerging writers, this a challenge to you as a supporting member of the society to build it in one way or the other. May God bless him, his family and Gombe Jewel Writers’ Association for providing a rendezvous for emerging writers and poets in Nigeria and all around the world.

Salim Yakubu Akko is a World Voices Magazine’s Nigerian correspondent and also a Member Media and Publicity to Gombe Jewel Writers” Association and as well as Gombe Hilltop Creative Art’s Foundation.
